Well, that was $8 well spent.

Today was Queenie’s day.

Today Queenie ran the 1/4 mile at the Yellow Brick Road Run at the Figge Art Museum, sponsored by the Cornbelt Running Club.  Not only did she run, she ran like the wind.  She ran like some sort of flaming conveyance.  She ran like… a girl who wanted first place.

Oh, did I mention she got first place?  Yeah, that’s right.  Cheered on by friends, as well as Boy-o and Bon Bon (collectively known as the beefcakes).  Yeah, this is how they roll.

But that wasn’t the end of the fun.  While she played with her friends (the kids of our bestest friends, beloved reader and occasional commenter My Secret Mandy’s crew), the race sponsors had a lil’ drawing for the runners.  Ever heard of Trek Bikes? Yeah, me neither, but some knowledgable people tell me they’re pretty good.  For instance, a girl’s 20 inch bike will run you around $170.  So yeah… Queenie won one of those too.

It was a very good day.

FREEBIE OF THE DAY: There’s nothing better than a BBQ with friends - we were lucky enough to have one today after the race.  Would it have been better with Free Marinade?  Maybe… maybe.

Holy cow!! Tell her I said congratulations! I don’t know where she gets this athletic ability, it certainly isn’t from our side of the family.
