The Secret to Success is Knowing Who to Blame

So I’ve been absent. And I have a scapegoat. Yahoo! Answers. It is the biggest mindless time suck ever. It’s for people too lazy to use google. And people who like to give advice.
I fall into the latter category. I’m a helper. Oh, your back hurts? Have you tried the chiropractor? Acupuncture? Want a spare hydrocodone? A massage? Would it help if I lick you?
Pathetic? I don’t know. I just want to be a good friend. But I don’t know these people! So I say, wtf am I doing here? I have laundry to do! And I log off and do laundry.
But then…the next day…I check my email. And there it is - an email from Y!A. “Your answer was chosen as the best!” What? Me? I was the best? Oh, I just have to click here to see what it was I said that was so brilliant, so life-changing…ah yes. The lovely, supportive post about how to remove ink stains. Why, I am brilliant, so very kind of them to thank me. Oh, and what’s this? Someone wants to know about c-sections? Well, I’ll just answer their question real quick. After all, we can’t have someone mislead by the bad advice all these ignorant teenagers are leaving…
And so it goes. Two hours down the drain. No clean bras for tomorrow. I still have writer’s block. Yahoo! Answers is evil.
