Tappity Tap Tap

There’s nothing like being in a wedding to motivate you to lose weight. Particularly when you’ve just had your last baby and are @#&mumble*%! pounds overweight anyway.
So in an effort to get slimming (sorry, too much BBC America), I set about looking for an exercise plan that wouldn’t take too much time, would be effective, and that would be easy on my knees. I read Ask Moxie regularly for her take on parenting, and saw that she is a big fan of the T-Tapp Workout. I was intrigued by the idea of working out for just 15 minutes day. But I didn’t have $40 to spend on a workout video either.

Therefore, I did what I always do, and got the T-Tapp book, Fit and Fabulous in 15 Minutes from our local library. Well, lemme tell ya, learning a workout from a book is super hard. It was like going back to school, sitting down and taking notes, trying to figure it all out.

But I did finally figure it out (at least I think so) and I’ve been doing the basic 15 minute workout (although it still takes me longer than 15 minutes) most days over the past 2 weeks. The book recommends that you take some measurements before you start, so you can track your progress. I didn’t do that because I just didn’t get to it, I wanted to get started. So I don’t know if I’ve lost any inches for sure, but I do feel stronger, some places on my body look smaller, and I know my posture is WAY better - it actually is uncomfortable to slouch now. It’s a hard workout, that’s for sure. I get mighty sweaty, and energized to boot - something that has never happened to me with any other exercise program.

I’ve got the book for three more weeks. I’m hoping that if I continue working the program that I’ll lose (a lot of) inches and memorize the moves enough that I can still do them after I’ve given the book back to the library. Overall I think I’d recommend it. But I’m thinking it’d be a lot easier with the video!
