Can you believe June is almost over? INSANITY. I'm already thinking about fall - scarves, cowls, hats - well, when I'm not sweating! The new colors are or soon will be in the shops, and it's time again to roundup all the weekly deals and coupons at the craft stores! Time to save money and time on yarn!
Many of these sales only last through the weekend, so be sure to click on the name of the store for current prices if you’re shopping next week! Make sure too that you know your craft store policies – many take competitor’s coupons, and this can really pay off! Please note that the JoAnn and Craftsy links in this article are affiliate links - but that doesn't change your prices at all!
Save money on yarn this week at…
Michaels
On the site, enter your zip code to get the coupons for the store closest to you. This week I got a coupon for $5 off for every $25 spent! Be sure to check your receipts – there are usually coupons printed at the bottom. Michaels has a mobile app with available coupons as well, so be sure to download that if you can. Sign up for the email newsletter, and Like Michaels on Facebook for more coupon opportunities.
According to the website the new yarns are in! Yay! But there are no sales listed. Boo!
The current flyer has a coupon for 40% off any regular-priced item good through the 22nd on the back. The new flyer has a 40% off any regular-priced item coupon good immediately, as well as a 40% off coupon good July 7-13. On the inside is another coupon for 10% off you total purchase, good June 30 - July 6. And if you have a student ID, July is Student Discount Month - you can get 20% off! There are also usually flyers inside the front door of the store, so always check the basket on your way in.
To get another Jo-Ann coupon, click the logo above, and at the bottom of the page under Shop, click on Store locator. Enter your zip code (if it doesn’t already show your nearest store). When you get the results, click on “More Store Information” and a link to a coupon will pop up. On the website there are more coupons, but they change quickly so check there before you shop. Be sure to sign up for the emails, their mailing list, text alerts, get the app, and Like Jo-Ann Fabrics on Facebook for even more deals.

Shopping online? Another great alternative to the above is Smiley’s Yarns, as well as Knitpicks, and WEBS. I've also heard lots of good buzz lately about Deramores, and they have both US and UK sites, with great shipping rates! You can also get the infamous Lucy Pack there - gorgeous! Additionally, many manufacturers, such as Lion Brand, take orders directly. And they often run sales - sign up for their emails to keep up. And if you get the chance, don't forget to shop at your local yarn stores - small businesses need our support too!

Tamara Kelly
You can of course crochet them together to make a blanket, or you can use smaller ones to make a bag. I also saw recently where someone used them to make a hanging pocket organizer!

Do you know anyone who wants afghan squares? I can give them to who ever wants them. Thank you Lynn Millar
