Lions, Tigers, Bears, Dogs, Birthdays, Babies…oh my.

Boy-o finally had his much anticipated 2nd birthday party on Sunday, and I do think it went off without a hitch. He received many lovely gifts, but it’s a bear getting him to write his thank you notes. The cake was a particular hit. Especially the icing part.
Now it’s back to normal life. Boy-o seems to be embracing his two-itude with elan, and is suddenly talking up a storm, which is a great relief. He’s not so fond of my new hardliner stance of no bottles, just sippy cups, but is adjusting. (The paci is next, little man!)
Queenie is enjoying Kindergarten (she ran a full mile yesterday in gym class and was the 1st girl to finish), but still squeezing in moping and screaming as time permits. Her latest beef is our (financial and sanity-related) decision to have just one party for her birthday. Last year she had the usual family and close family friends party, PLUS a preschool friends party. This year it’s family and close family friends only. The diva does not approve. If it were up to her, she’d be the youngest ever star of My Super Sweet Sixteen. The day she sees that show I am doomed.
Bon Bon, now 4 months old, has started to discover the joys of separation anxiety… but is still the easiest baby ever. His latest doctor’s appointment had him at 17 lbs, 7 oz, and 27 1/2 inches long. The galoot.
Next on the agenda: Close a home equity loan this week, Queenie runs in a local race on Sunday, and I need to start planning her birthday party. I believe the theme this year is “Rock and Roll Princess.” We’re getting there…
FREEBIE OF THE DAY: Now that we’re back to school, germs are everywhere. Queenie loves to drink Airborne, and now you can try their new Airborne Power Pixies for free!

I had such a good time! Thanks for the invite. The present opening was a bit…um..we’ll call it a bit manic, yet with a touch of hilarity. Is boy-o still kissing and hugging the stuffed puppy every minute and a half? What a happy go-lucky kid…until the PT starts playing Livin’ La Vida loca. Did you take the batteries out yet?

I’m thinking next present opening will be at the dining room table.

That sounds like an excellent plan. Either that or put all the children in the playpen-thing and the presents on the floor.
Although like I said…there was a bit of hilarity in Boy-o’s opening…all those little girls in pink and paper flying everywhere….
