Hi Tamara, do you have a written pattern of the Final Frosted Beanie? Would love to make this from a written pattern.
Tamara Kelly
Thank you! Yes, it's the first link above under "As Seen In This Video" and also at https://www.mooglyblog.com/final-frost-beanie/ 🙂

Never in my life did I think I'd prefer working from a chart rather than written directions. You've made a huge change in the way I do my crocheting. I love this hat and being able to just print the chart is so much easier than writing out and printing directions. to take with me when I travel. THANK YOU so very much!
Tamara Kelly
😀 I'm so glad to hear it! I left a note for you on the Print Friendly page about printing it, but I'm going to copy and paste it here in case anyone else has the same trouble:
In the Print Friendly window there is a little box with what looks like a mountain in it, and it’s set at 100%. To print the chart, first click on everything else on the page to get rid of it – printing videos does no one any good lol. Then, change the percentage next to the mountain to 50%. I just printed one out and it was all on one page. 🙂

Since I had already started a document for this pattern I didn't want to start over from the beginning so it took me a little longer to copy the chart into my document. Next time I'll know exactly what to do. FYI - for others. If you have this as PDF change it to WORD to do a copy and paste into your document. Works really slick. THANK YOU so much for your help!
Tamara Kelly
Ah, another good idea! Thanks Jean!

Is there a way to make the pattern with less stitches than the standard 84? It's a little bit bigger for my head and I didn't know if doing less would mess up the pattern in any way and also I don't know how to even start making it smaller haha
Tamara Kelly
Hi Jeanette! In Rnd 7, try working 3 sc in fewer of the ch sps - maybe just 2 in all of them, or however many sts you want to reduce by.
Brandie
Love this beanie but I have a big head and I could not find the part for a large one.
Tamara Kelly
Hi Brandie! Thank you! You can scroll down to the size large at https://www.mooglyblog.com/final-frost-beanie/ 🙂

Hi, I’m up to row 11 I think but it’s just a big round circle. I’m wondering when it starts to take the shape of a beanie or am I doing something wrong??
Thanks
Tamara Kelly
It should start pulling in very soon - be sure that you aren't increasing. If you aren't, then you'll want to make sure that the loop on your hook when you start a new stitch isn't pulled up too big - that makes the top of the stitch wider than the bottom.

Thank you for sharing this pattern! I was wondering how it might be affected if I used a bulkier wool. What the hat increase in size too much? Any adjustment suggestions to get it to work?
I appreciate it!
Tamara Kelly
It may increase in size - I'd start by trying the smaller one for sure, and maybe keeping my tension a bit higher?

Great pattern! Thank you for sharing and making the TUTORIAL, I'm a visual learner .
It was comfortable for me to follow as your speed and language were calm and clear.
AGAIN;THANK YOU!!

Not sure what I did wrong as I had the requisite 84 stitches all the way down, but mine started to flare out instead of starting straight. And it was way too big. I gave up and took it all out.
Tamara Kelly
I've been wracking my brain trying to think of why this happens for some people and not others, and my best guess is that the tops of the post sts are too large for some.

Hi, Tamara! I love your patterns and your wonderful instructions for everyone. I do have a little bitty issue though. Although I have no problem using only written instructions, I like to use all available options even studying the photos. So I was just an itty bitty bit put out that there is such beautiful right handed charts but no left handed charts. I usually just flip them horizontally on my computer but, in the case of this chart and others with more intricate design elements, the FPDC symbols become BPDC symbols. This drives my OCD tendencies insane. Again, no biggie. Just something to think about if you have enough lefties to bother.
Tamara Kelly
Thank you so much for the feedback Juanita! ♥ I appreciate your input!
Angela
Hi there! Thank you for such a beautiful pattern! Am I missing the finished size for the large beanie or are you able to provide it? I am almost finished with it and it looks rather large! Thank you!
Tamara Kelly
Hi Angela! The sizes are listed in the written pattern as Small (20-22″, shown); Large (22-24″) 🙂
Angela
Thank you!! I do believe I saw that somewhere!🤣🥲
