Fortune’s Shawlette was inspired by the ubiquitous corner to corner stitch, aka the diagonal box stitch. But of course I had to add my own twist to the idea, creating a lacier, more open, summer ready stitch pattern. And boy, did it earn it’s name!

The pint sized literary heroine Eloise has inspired a few patterns here on Moogly – the Eloise Baby Sweater, Girls Sweater, and Bonnet. And now I have another one for you – with the same palette, stitches, and attitude, but this one is fit for boys and girls, newborns to adults! Eloise once said, “An egg cup makes a very good hat.” I’d like to think she’d like this one even better.
