Above is the original made in 3 colors! Below, you can see my version, made with my 6 colors!
My Notes:
This pattern is free - CLICK HERE! To print or download the pattern for free, open a second tab on your browser to PrintFriendly.com and enter the URL there. If you need help with Print Friendly, please see the tutorial here.
This pattern uses the simplest stitches - single crochet and double crochet - but it does so to great effect, and opens up lots of color possibilities beyond the ones shown above!

My square came out to 12" exactly! But everyone's gauge and tension level are different so be sure to measure as you go, and check your gauge right at the beginning, as this one doesn't have a whole lot of room for adjustment if it's coming out too big. Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.
I used a Furls Odyssey hook and Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice, and my color scheme was as follows – Pattern Grey: Silver Grey; Pattern Black: Aqua; Pattern Red: Rows 4-7: Aquamarine, Rows 8-10: Radiant Lime, Rows 11-13: Lemon, Rows 14-17: Rose Shocking.
To block this post, I used the wet blocking method and a Chetnanigans BlocksAll Ultra blocking board.

Tamara, you will laugh at this! I'm caught up, with SAVING the patterns! haha Ok so I did your 2014 CAL faithfully to the end, on time even. I started the 2015 and made it to June which is when I had my son. Who is now 2 years old and I still haven't finished that blanket! I've saved ALL the 2016 CAL patterns, and I just finished saving all current 2017 CAL patterns! It is my mission to get back on track and actually make these, because I LOVE making these blankets! Someday you will see a finished 2015 blanket, a finished 2016 blanket and a 2017 one, hopefully before 2020! hahahaha

Oh man, I've been there - especially when more kids arrived! (We won't talk about the state of the photo albums....) 😀 Good luck!
