There is a Special Stitch section - don't miss it! There are a couple of unique moves here! (and some super clever leaves!)

My square was coming out the tiniest bit small - though I wouldn't have guessed it when I was making the leaves! The last 2 rows are quite short, so don't get scared if you're at 11" or so after the leaves. To get a full 12", I just bumped up the last round from single crochet to half double crochet, and that was perfect. But everyone's gauge and tension level are different so be sure to measure as you go. Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.
I used a Furls Odyssey hook and Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice, and my color scheme was as follows – Rnd 1-3: Aqua; Rnd 4-5: Rose Shocking; Rnd 6-9: Lemon; Leaves: Radiant Lime; Edging Rnd 1: Aquamarine; Edging Rnd 2: Silver Grey (hdc instead of sc).
To block this post, I used the wet blocking method and a Chetnanigans BlocksAll Ultra blocking board.
Thanks so much for crocheting along with me! I can't wait to see all the beautiful blankets you crochet this year! You can follow Moogly on Facebook, Twitter, G+, Pinterest, Instagram, and Tumblr, and don't forget to sign up for the free newsletter at the top of the page! Thank you to Lion Brand Yarn for providing the yarn for this crochet along.

I always like how you describe how you fix your square when it seems to be to big or to small.

🙂 I'm so glad you find it helpful Vickie! Thank you!

I've tried a couple of times, as well has another person, to get ReCrochetions to explain row 7 of block 16 the Sunflower. it's been over a month - no response! Can you please explain row 7??
Tamara Kelly
I can try! 🙂 I'm not sure where it's giving you trouble, but basically the repeat is [fptr, dc, fptr] all in the same stitch, then a decrease (dc2tog) over the next 2 sts, then dc in the next 2 sts. Does that help?
Nicole
YES!!!!! Thank you so much!! Now for rows 8 and 9..... 😉
Cindy
Thank you so much! I was stuck at row 9 and traced it back to row 7. Your directions were clear and concise!
