Crochet dresses can be fun and flirty, or prim and proper - and fun at any age! More and more patterns for these beautiful creations are coming out, and it's so exciting looking though them all! It's going to be tough to narrow it down, so I've decided to focus on dresses that can be worn as dresses (though they may require a slip), in a wide variety of styles. No swimsuit cover-ups, for those go here. And for this roundup, grownups only - for crochet dresses for girls, stay tuned! So without further ado, here are my top 10 free crochet dress patterns for women!

I've never been fond of crochet dresses, but you've picked some cute ones.

Thanks Liz! 🙂

I'd like to try crocheting that white dress with the blue ribbon but my daughter's a XS/S and the size forbthat one says size 12- any suggestions on how to figure out how to make it smaller? Thank you so much for your help - I want to get it done so she can wear it to her graduation in 2 weeks.
Ginger
I'm not sure but if this is actually an older pattern you may want to look at the guage and figure out what the finished size will be. A size 12 used to be a lot smaller than a size 12 is today.
Laura
The last dress's pattern is in Spanish, then English. Do you know if they are using British crochet terms, or American? It's a beautiful dress!
Tamara Kelly
Hi Laura! Those would be US terms - the clue is the Hdc - in the UK there's no Hdc, it's Htr. 🙂

Tamara Kelly
I'm sorry, it looks like they've removed it from the site! You'd need to get a backissue of the magazine now: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/nightfall-3

Hi, so for dress #3, Chanel Style Dress, I clicked on the link and it led me to the ravelry page of the dress, but where can I find the written pattern there in english? Thanks
Tamara Kelly
Unfortunately, it looks like one of the Ravelry editors decided to remove the links. I'll update the listing here on Moogly. 🙁

I found your post through pintrest where someone pinned the red dress in the lower left corner of the first photo. I cannot find any other reference to this dress. Can you help me?
Tamara Kelly
I'm afraid that was the Caron Openwork Dress, which Yarnspirations took down when they redid their site a few years ago. It's no longer available anywhere, as far as I can find.
Angela
